However, many Internal Audit organizations have yet to establish a specific program for IT audit or have struggled to identify a qualified IT auditor to lead the effort. CynergisTek developed its AuditEssentials portfolio for organizations looking to establish and implement core IT audit activities as well as for organizations looking to make more robust their existing IT audit capabilities.

Our goal is to assist our clients to ensure that their assets and data are properly protected, the risks inherent to their IT systems have been properly assessed and are controlled with suitable internal controls, and that appropriate management oversight and governance activities are in place.

Co-Sourcing Auditing Services
Co-Sourcing is an excellent approach to build IT audit competency within a generalist internal audit department. CynergisTek can work with your internal audit staff to perform some of the IT audits independently as an extension of your own staff.

Alternatively, you may request to work jointly with CynergisTek staff to conduct contracted audits. This process would help ensure that some of the technical knowledge and methodology utilized during the audit would be imparted to your internal audit staff.

Outsourced Auditing Services
Outsourcing IT audit services is often helpful and warranted when an internal audit department does not have a dedicated or specialized IT auditor on the team. With this approach, CynergisTek will perform all of your IT audits, functioning as a integral part of your internal team. The IT audit program will be mutually-defined, scoped and developed with at the discretion of your internal audit department.
